Walking Holidays

You can choose from a selction of walking holidays from Spring right through to Autumn (in winter you will need to wear snowshoes so have a look at our snowshoeing holiday offers) and can go either self guided or guided. The walking here is superb all year round and we have chosen some of our favourites to share with you more coming online soon. All our walks are graded according to fitness and technical ability levels. These are only a guide and we will always adapt your holiday to suit you.

easy paths, 2 -3 hours walking per day with a small amount of ascent and descent.

easy paths, 4 - 6 hours walking per day with ascent and descent

some more difficult paths (no scrambling, but could be quite steep), 4 - 6 hours walking per day with ascent and descent

some difficult paths with the possibility of easy scrambling (but no ropes or climbing involved), 4 - 8 hours of walking per day with ascent and descent.

Our guided walks are in groups of between 6 and 8 people and all the guides we use are experienced and fully qualified mountain leaders who are local to the area and know all the best places to go. Our guides won't just lead the way and keep you safe, they will show you where the wildlife is hiding out, tell you what plants are what and explain the geology and the history of the features you will see on your walks. For self guided walks, we will provide you with maps and route guides, book your accommodation for you, arrange your transfers or hire car and organise transport to and from walks if needed.

The tour de Vieux Chaillol is a classic walk taking in the four valleys visible from Champsaur's highest mountain, the Vieux Chaillol. You can join our all inclusive guided trip or go it alone with the support of our route cards, maps, transport and accommodation arrangements.

Alpine Wilderness

All inclusive 7 day trek into the high mountains of the Ecrin National Park with donkeys to carry some of your kit. This trip will take you off the beaten track to some spectacular alpine scenes and give you a true wilderness experience. During the trek you will spend some nights camping and some nights in a mountain refuge. A unique adventure for walkers who want something a little bit different.
