Discover the hidden forest paths and tracks, the gentle, and not so gentle single track descents and swim in secret bays around the Lac de Serre Poncon.
The Lac de Serre Poncon is the largest damned lake in the Western Europe and is especially stunning with it's deep blue colour and dramatic 360 degree mountain backdrop.
There are several waymarked mountain bike routes around it but it is possible to get right off the beaten track and discover a whole hidden wilderness.
Obviously you have to know where to go and our mountain bike guides have been researching (such a hard job!!) all the little paths and tracks that you won't find on the map over the last decade.
They haven't published their routes because they want to preserve the wilderness feel of the area. But they are more than happy to share their knowledge with like minded people who are passionate about mountain biking and care about nature.
To really explore the area properly you need to go for several days and our guides have put together a three and a four day trip. There are a huge variety of tracks available and they can adapt them to suit your level.
So whether you are a family looking for an adventre with your children or a group of experienced mountain bikers looking for a real challenge and an adrenalin fix somewhere different, you will be pleasantly rewarded!
The days can be as short or as long as you like (well within reason - you do have to get to the next overnight spot!) with lots of picnic and swimming stops or none at all. It is really up to you - the guides know the area well enough to create a perfect itinerary for you!
Accommodation on the trip is camping, generally on established camp sites so you have washing facilities and proper toilets! But for the four day option you will be wild camping in the woods on your last night!
It is possible to upgrade to stay in the camp sites' chalets but this is subject to availability and is usually only possible outside of the holiday season.
All your baggage is transferred for you to each location so you are riding with just a day pack.
