Ski the Ski Villages

Dates: From December until April

The Champsaur valley is unique in the Alps for it's preservation of the five small ski villages scattered up the valley on the way into the big ski resort of Orcieres 1850. If you like traditional alpine french villages, friendly, calm and relaxed skiing without lift queues in beautiful surroundings then you will love skiing in the Champsaur ski villages. There are five to choose from, all within 20 minutes drive from each other.

All the ski villages have creche and babysitting facilities nearby, ski school and some have a ski kindergarten.

Other activities you can do in and around the villages or the resort of Orcieres (15 - 20 mins away from any of the villages) include: snowshoeing, cross country skiing, husky dog sledding, ice climbing igloo village, mountain bike in the snow, ice diving swim, ice skate and more.

Getting Here and Transport

For the ski villages we recommend having a car so you can visit the other villages and get around to restaurants, shops and other attractions in the valley.

There are lots of different options for getting here and we will help you plan and book your journey wherever possible. We can arrange transfers or car hire from nearby airports and train stations, rail transport and ferry crossings but can't book flights. However, we can help you with information about who flies where so you can book your own.

Chalet Style 3* Hotel

Package Price From €1184 per adult and €469 per child :

The hotel is a beautifully done three star chalet style hotel with an authentic vaulted restaurant, a swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room. Beauty therapies are also available. It is a very friendly, family run hotel and the restaurant is excellent. It's in the centre of a pretty traditional ski village and about a 15 minute walk from the pistes.

The Chalets du Tourond

The Chalets du Tourond are really well done chalet style apartments. There are a range of different sizes, all with either a terrace or balcony with superb views over the Champsaur valley. They are all fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, TV, all kitchen utensils and crockery... and are perfectly situated next to the pistes and central to the ski village of Chaillol.

This 2 * hotel is a fantastic little gem, hidden away in the pretty ski village of St Leger Les Melezes. Clean, comfortable and friendly with an excellent restaurant, it is perfect for a winter holiday break! It's in the centre of the old village and about a 5 minute walk from the pistes.
