The Champsaur valley is unique in the Alps for it's preservation of the four small ski villages scattered up the valley on the way into the big resort of Orcieres. If you like traditional old french villages, friendly, calm and relaxed skiing without lift queues in beautiful surroundings then you will love skiing in the Champsaur ski villages. There are four to choose from, all within 20 minutes drive from each other.

Other activities you can do in and around the villages include snowshoeing, cross country skiing, husky dog sledging,... and up in the resort of Orcieres 30 mins drive from St Bonnet you can visit an igloo village, swim, ice skate, mountain bike in the snow, ice diving and more.

The Hotel les Autanes is a beautifully done three star chalet style hotel with an authentic vaulted restaurant, a swimming pool, jacuzzi and steam room. Beauty therapies are also available. It is a very friendly, family run hotel and the restaurant is excellent. It's in the centre of the old village of Ancelle and about a 15 minute walk from the pistes.

The Chalets du Tourond are really well done chalet style apartments. There are a range of different sizes, all with either a terrace or balcony with superb views over the Champsaur valley. They are all fully equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, TV, all kitchen utensils and crockery... and are perfectly situated next to the pistes and central to the ski village of Chaillol.
