Skiing and Winter Multi Activity Holiday

From €xxx per adult and €xxx per child for a weeks skiing or snowboarding with a choice of other winter activities to spice up your week in the French Alps.

Choose from a variety of accommodation and activity options to tailor make your perfect skiing and winter multi activity holiday.

For this holiday you can stay in the ski resort of Orcieres 1850 with it's 100km plus of varied high altitude skiing and snowboarding pistes or for a more relaxed and very traditional 'french' experience you can stay in one of the ski villages. We have put together a mixture of our most popular accommodation, a ski package and a choice of winter activities to give you an idea of what's available and prices.

If you would prefer to stay in different accommodation, would like ski lessons, want to do more or less activities or fancy trying something that isn't on our list, please let us know when you enquire and we'll tailor make a quote for you. We can put together pretty much anything!

Prices Include:

• 7 nights accommodation in a choice of, self catering, bed and breakfast or hotel accommodation

• Up to 4 activities of your choice from the skier multi activity list below (to make four points)

• 6 days ski pass for Orcieres 1850 and / or the Champsaur Ski Villages (depending on location of accommodation)

• 6 days ski / snowboard and boot hire

• leisure card for ice skating, bowling and swimming at the famous glass walled 'palais du sport' in Orcieres 1850.

All the guides and instructors used for the activities are fully qualified and experienced in their field. They will ensure your safety whilst making sure you have fun and make the most of the activities and region.

Getting Here and Transport

If you are staying in the resort of Orcieres 1850, there are public transfers every Saturday throughout the season from Marseille and Grenoble airports, Aix-en-Provence and Grenoble TGV stations and Gap train station. Once in resort all of the activities are resort based or accessible by public transport.

If you are staying outside of the ski resort of Orcieres 1850, we strongly recommend you self drive as public transport to and from the activities and between the villages is limited.

Skier Winter Multi Activity List

We have a diverse range of activities to choose from and of course they are not all the same price!! So to make it easy for you we have divided the activities into three categories, Green, Blue and Red.

Each colour is worth a number of points:

Green Activities are worth 1 point
Blue Activities are worth 2 points
Red Activities are worth 3 points
Black Activities are worth 4 points

With this holiday you have four points, so you can choose a mixture of activities from each colour to make up your four points. Please note that some of the activities fall between categories and require an extra 1/2 a point. You can choose two of the same activity - eg two snowshoe walks.

Green Activities - 1 point

Moonlit Snowshoe The glow of red and orange as the sun sets over the mountains is a truly beautiful scene. And what better way to enjoy it than in the peace and tranquility of the high mountain environment on snowshoes. Find out more about snowshoeing

Snowshoeing Half a day of guided snowshoeing including snowshoes and poles. Choose from a list of themed snowshoes from Chamois spotting to snow security or just a straight forward walk! Listen to the crunch of snow beneath your feet as you snow-shoe through the alpine wilderness. Look out for chamois and Ibex. It is possible to upgrade to a full day using 1/2 a point.

Cross Country Skiing (without instructor) Includes a days piste pass and equipment hire. Give your lungs and legs an aerobic workout as you explore the alpine winter landscapes. The Champsaur and Valgaudemar valleys have an extensive range of cross country skiing pistes including a high altitude circuit. If you have never cross country skied before, you may want to choose the blue option with a lesson.

Snake SledgeTwo places on a roller coaster ride down the pistes in a collective snake sledge. Each person sits on a segment of the sledge which all joins together to make one big snake. The snake sledge descends at the end of the day once skiers have left the piste. One point is for two places

Snow Mountain Biking Catch the last lift up with your specially adapted mountain bike and, after a few top tips from your instructor, ride down! A great fun activity to finish off a day on the piste. Minimum age is 8. This activity uses up an extra 1/2 point

Giant Tyrolean Zip Wire Travel at speeds of up to 140km per hour head first through the Alps. An extreme adrenalin buzz on the largest tyrolean zip wire in Europe! This activity uses up an extra 1/2 a point.

Blue Activities - 2 points

Husky Dog Sledding A one hour sled with your own team of huskies across the alpine snow fields of the Southern French Alps.

Night in an Igloo Wrap up warm and go 'eskimo' for the night. A truly memorable experience on a high Alpine plateau. Special matresses and sleeping bags are provided and evening meal and breakfast is included. Minimum age is 3. This activity uses up an extra 1/2 a point.

Cross Country Skiing Lesson Your instructor will spend the morning with you giving you top tips on technique. Then you have the afternoon free to go off on your own and make the most of the extensive range of cross country skiing pistes in the region!

Igloo Building - have a go at building your own igloo in the snow! There are several techniques to choose from to build a perfect igloo! And as you will see the end results vary - enormously! This is a guided 1/2 day activity and usually involves some snowshoeing to get to a good igloo site!

Snowscoot This is a unique sport and consists of a non-motorized scooter type contraption with a surf board instead of wheels. It is actually very easy to master and you'll be surprised how quickly you progress! You have an hour lesson and the option of keeping the snowscoot for the day.

A half day Ice Climbing Discover the magical world of icicles, ice sheets, snow gullies and other weird and wonderful snow and ice formations. This is a half day of ice climbing with a high mountain guide and all equipment included. Minimum age is 8.

Ski / Snowboard Off Piste Head off piste in and around resort and check out the powder. A 2 hour lesson with a fully qualified high mountain guide or ski instructor exploring the best on offer in and around resort using ski lifts for access.

Red Activities - 3 points

Ice Diving Explore the underwater world of a frozen high altitude lake. You will be one on one with an experienced diving instructor and will be kitted out in full dry suit and scuba diving kit. No previous diving experience is necessary. Minimum age is 16.

A day Ice Climbing Discover the magical world of icicles, ice sheets, snow gullies and other weird and wonderful snow and ice formations. This is a day of ice climbing with a high mountain guide and all equipment included. Minimum age is 8.

Paragliding Get the best view of the Alps as you fly above the mountains in the peace and quiet. This is a tandem flight with an experienced instructor. You will be in the air for approximately 10 - 15 minutes. Minimum age is 8

Husky Dog Sledding A 1/2 day sled with your own team of huskies across the alpine snow fields of the Southern French Alps.

Black Activities - 4 points

Speed Riding Skiing with a parachute - ski fast and furious with the aid of a parachute in specially designated off piste zones. A 3 hour taster session learning the basics of the sport. Only for experienced skiers. It is possible to upgrade to a full day (5 hours) for an extra point.

Overnight Igloo Building Expedition For a real eskimo adventure.... this is an overnight snowshoe trek into the snowy alpine wilderness where you will build your own igloo and sleep in it for the night. Evening meal and breakfast are provided. All technical equipment except sleeping bags included.

Ski Touring / Mountaineering Put skins on your skis and head off to explore the mountains in winter ... take in a col, climb a summit and enjoy the sun, spectacular views and ski down in powder..... A full day out with a qualified UIAGM high mountain guide. Suitable for intermediate skiers. Ski equipment not included but is available to hire for an extra point.

Self Catering Apartments - Ski and Multi Activity

We have a range of privately owned apartments situated in and around the resort and pistes. Most of them are recently renovated or newly decorated in a range of styles from contemporary to chalet style and come in a variety of sizes.

We'll search for the best one available that suits your needs when you make your enquiry.

With this offer you can also take a half board option in one of the local restaurants near your apartment.

4 Star Residences - Ski and Winter Multi Activity

The 4 star Chalet Style Residences are newly built and situated right on the pistes in the center of Orcieres 1850 with easy access to the activities and resort facilities. There are a range of fully equipped apartments all furnished in a chalet style. And there's also an on-site lounge with open fire, bar and restaurant with the option to go half or full board.

Hotel Accommodation - Ski and Multi Activity

The Hotel is a newly refurbished family run hotel with excellent views across the mountains. It's very friendly and has a good restaurant.

It's a 5 - 10 minute walk from the pistes but you can leave your skis at the ski lift so don't have to walk with them.
