The Champsaur valley is unique in the Alps for it's preservation of the five small ski villages scattered up the valley on the way into the big ski resort of Orcieres 1850. If you like traditional alpine french villages, friendly, calm and relaxed skiing without lift queues in beautiful surroundings then you will love skiing in the Champsaur ski villages. There are five to choose from, all within 20 minutes drive from each other.
All the ski villages have
creche and babysitting facilities nearby, ski school and some have a ski kindergarten.

For your activity points, there are a range of activities you can do in and around the villages or the resort of Orcieres (15 - 20 mins away from any of the villages) including:
snowshoeing,
cross country skiing,
husky dog sledding,
ice climbing
igloo village,
swim, ice skate and more.
We also arrange
winter multi activity holidays for non-skiers if you would like a more activity / snowshoeing rather than ski based holiday.
Getting Here and Transport
For the ski villages we recommend having a car so you can visit the other villages and get around to restaurants, shops and other attractions in the valley.
There are lots of different options for getting here and we will help you plan and book your journey wherever possible. We can arrange car hire from nearby airports and train stations, rail transport and ferry crossings but can't book flights. However, we can help you with information about who flies where so you can book your own.

This homely, chalet style 3* hotel is one of the best in the area, situated in the traditional ski village of Ancelle. It is about a 15 minute walk to the pistes, and also has a lovely pool, jacuzzi and steam room as well as beauty therapies available. The hotel has an excellent restaurant and a bar. Bear Stone is a homely, traditional B&B located in the remote alpine valley of Champoleon. It is full of French Alpine charm, and with peace and quiet and alpine ambiance and character, this is a great place to stay for a relaxing week away in the Alps. It is located a short drive to the ski villages and to Orcieres, and in a great location for some of the Activities.

Auberge is a fantastic little place situated in the wild and remote alpine valley of Champoleon. It was completely restored by the commune in 2008 in a modern funky style but still manages to retain some of it's old mountain character and feel.

This 2 * hotel is a fantastic little gem, hidden away in the pretty ski village of St Leger Les Melezes. No frills but clean, comfortable and friendly with an excellent restaurant, it is perfect for a winter holiday break! It's in the centre of the old village and about a 5 minute walk from the pistes.
