Ski Joering

Activities - Ski Joering

Ski Joering is an unusual and great fun activity for horse lovers in the Alps in winter!

Wearing your skis, you hold on to a special harness attached to the horse or pony and let it pull you along the snow.

Enjoy the sensation of being pulled fast along a piste with the wind rushing past your face against a backdrop of beautiful scenery.

You don't need to be an expert skier but do need to be able to hold yourself upright on skis! It is recommended that you can ski a green run competently before attempting a taster ski joering experience.

The speed of the horse or pony is controlled by you and the instructor so you can go as fast or slow as you feel comfortable.

Ski joering takes place in the ski village of Ancelle on separated and cordoned off pistes. It is run as a taster activity with tours of 5 - 10 minutes. A great activity to break up your day on the pistes and add a bit of adventure!

The riding school who run the ski joering are fully insured and qualified for this sport and will put your safety first. They also have a good reputation for looking after their animals and you can be assured the ponies and horses are well cared for!
