News - Orcieres opening early

After 2006's dubious snow record, an excellent season last year, there has been an air of nervous anticipation hovering over french ski resorts all year... which way will it go this year...?

And it has arrived, not just early but in beautifully generous quantities!!

Orcieres is opening EARLY on the 6th December!!

The snowploughs have shed their summer cobwebs and are back in action preparing the pistes for the first skiers of the season!!

The prospect of an early (bonus) ski before the arrival of the Christmas holiday makers has generated a wave of positive energy and enthusiasm amongst the locals.

The ski shops are full of last minute ski services (mine are in the queue) and last year's scratched sunglasses and that lost glove that got dropped from the chair lift are frantically being replaced in an effort to be amongst the first skiers of 2008/9.
