Activities - Mountain Biking - Orcieres Bike Park
Already an established downhill mountain biking location, the development of the Orcieres bike park has really put Orcieres on the mountain bike map!
The bike park is being developed over three years and is currently in its second year, with a special beginners' park and more runs planned for 2008.
Currently there are several unpisted, but well waymarked routes - both trails and single tracks, starting from 2655m all the way down to 1340m - over 1300m of pure downhill! The red is a truly beautiful ride down!
There are three pisted routes (one green, one blue and one red), with bumps, bridges, hairpins and other little obstacles to negotiate, all suitable to their graded level. They start at the Plateau de Rocherousse at 2300m and finish in the resort at 1850m, offering a variety of options for all levels.
And then there is the bike park with jumps, see-saws, wallrides, funboxes and a range of other obstacles from blue through to black. The mountain bike enthusiasts can really test their skills, learn and perfect new tricks, at the same time providing less adventurous bikers with great entertainment!
All the routes are served by chairlifts and telemix (a mixture of cable car and chairlifts), specially adapted to carry mountain bikes. And if you descend down to the valley there is a free van and trailer transfer back up to the resort, where the lifts start.
There's a bike wash depot, a high altitude restaurant and a superb swimming pool, jacuzzi and sauna sport complex at the resort to pamper your aching body after a hard day of downhill.
Have a look at the

mountain bike routes in Champsaur. A full suspension bike and full body protection is recommended using the bike park or doing a lot of downhill.
We have a range of bikes available to rent from high quality full suspension downhill bikes to semi-rigid cross country bikes, but, of course, you can bring your own.
