Warm Weather Family Tough it out in an Igloo
Christmas 2006
Two families, one from Muscat in Oman and one from Dubai visited us in the height of summer and thought it was cold. There they were in their jumpers and fleeces while the rest of us were sweating in our shorts! So when they decided to come out again for Christmas and sleep in an igloo at 2300m, we thought they were mad. These are children who have never seen snow, never experienced the cold and probably never even owned a wooly hat before.
One of the children, Elliot, aged nine decided to write about his experience and it was such a wonderful account we thought it deserved a place on our website!
Tour de France - Etape du Tour
10th July 2006
The public stage of the Tour de France, the Etape du Tour is in a different place each year and this year it was here! It is one of the hardest stages of the Tour de France route - Gap to Alpes D'huez - 187 km over some of the toughest mountain passes. 8000 amateur cyclists including 1600 Brits descended on Gap to participate in the event, including my very own little sister and a hardy bunch of Undiscovered Alps clients!
