Summits of the Southern French Alps - Introductory Mountaineering
Fixed Dates: 25 June - 2 July 2011 PLACES AVAILABLE- ideal for individuals looking to join a group (minimum group size of 4). Other Dates: Any week between June and September for groups of two or more booking together. Price: From 1169 per person If you are a passionate walker or climber and love the mountains, you will find it difficult to resist the lure of summiting the big Alpine peaks! A progressive week of mountaineering and alpinism taking in three spectacular peaks of the Southern french Alps including L'Obiou 2789m, Les Rouies 3589m and either the Sirac 3444m or L'Olan 3564m. A real taste of classic mountaineering and alpinism off the beaten track! Fully guided with UIAGM qualified high mountain guides (ratio between 1:2 and 1:6 depending on summit), all equipment, food, transport to and from scheduled activities, refuges and choice of either hotel or refuge accommodation in the valley. No previous experience of mountaineering or alpinism is necessary but a good level of walking fitness and some scrambling or climbing experience is required. Winter Mountaineering Skills Trip
Dates: 13th - 17th January 2011 Price: 989 per person A five day winter mountaineering skills trip including half board accommodation at a fantastic little Auberge ,three days guided mountain days with a UIAGM high mountain guide, all technical equipment (except ski hire) and transport to and from the activities. The course includes ice climbing, a mixed mountain day with snow gully, easy climbing and walking and an easy ski tour (please note non-skiers can opt for a second day ice climbing or mountain day.) This trip is aimed at walkers or climbers who want to learn about and explore the snow and ice challenges of the mountains in winter!! No previous experience is necessary, but a reasonable level of fitness is recommended.
