Mountain Adventure Holiday






From 698 per adult for a week of climbing, via ferrata, walking and mountaineering adventures in the mountains of the Southern French Alps. Feel the sun on your back as you negotiate an exposed via ferrata or climb a dramatic cliff face, enjoy the high mountain ambiance of a glacier traverse and take in a 3589m alpine summit, walk through beautiful alpine scenery and tackle a big mountain route! You don't need any climbing or mountaineering experience to be able to enjoy this holiday as it can be adapted to suit all levels. However, a reasonable level of fitness and a good head for heights is recommended. Minimum age is 15. Minimum group size is 4 people. All Prices Include:
7 nights accommodation in a choice of camping, self catering, bed and breakfast or hotel accommodation
1/2 day guided via ferrata
1/2 day guided rock climbing
1 day guided walking, scrambling and climbing on a big mountain route
2 day guided mountaineering trip - ascent of Les Rouies 3589m Involves an overnight in a high mountain refuge, a glacier crossing and some easy scrambling. A big day with spectacular views across the Ecrins.
Maps and route advice for self guided walks and bike rides and advice on markets, events and other things to see and do in the area.
All technical equipment including harnesses, helmets, ice axes and crampons and safety equipment are included.
The guides used for this trip are all fully qualified UIAGM high mountain guides who are local to the area.
When you arrive at your accommodation we will meet you to explain the week and give you maps and directions for getting to the meeting points where you will meet your guides for the day. They are all easy to find so don't worry about getting lost!
We will also suggest walks and other things to do near the meeting points if you would like to have a full day out and give you advice on markets, events and other things to see and do on your free day. There are some beautiful lakes (including a great life-guarded swimming lake), villages, museums, nature walks... And we are in the area throughout your stay for any questions, advice or information.

Transport and Getting Here
We highly recommend you self drive rather than let us drive you to and from the activities for this holiday as the area has so much to offer and for you to explore in your free time. Mountain Adventure Itinerary
Get away from the crowds and explore the mountains of the Southern French Alps without having to share them with hundreds of other mountain lovers! The challenge of getting to the top of a mountain has fascinated and intrigued people for generations! This is a varied and progressive week exploring some of the different ways to climb a mountain; via ferrata, rock climbing, scrambling, traversing a glacier... with the challenge of a 2 day mountaineering summit, Les Rouies 3589m at the end. You don't need any mountaineering or climbing experience to be able to enjoy this holiday as the routes and itinerary can be adapted to suit all levels.
Bed and Breakfast Option
796 per adult for a week of climbing, via ferrata, walking and mountaineering in the Undiscovered Alps staying at a gorgeous converted traditional farmhouse bed and breakfast. The bed and breakfast is a beautifully converted traditional Champsaurian farmhouse situated in a small hamlet at the entrance to the Champsaur valley. You are centrally located for all the activities and have the advantage of beautiful views, peace and quiet and a really friendly place to stay!
Self Catering Option
From 698 per adult for a week of climbing, via ferrata, walking and mountaineering in the Undiscovered Alps staying self catering in a beautiful cosy mountain farmhouse. The Cosy Mountain Farmhouse is a beautifully renovated traditional mountain farmhouse. It is situated in a pretty mountain hamlet overlooking the Champsaur valley. A really lovely place to stay with great views, peace and quiet and centrally located for the activities.
