The Lac du Sautet is a beautiful deep blue alpine lake surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery.
It isn't very well known and not at all commercialised so you can kayak or canoe across it in relative peace and tranquility!
At one end there is a gorge which winds itself through amazing cliffs showing off their geological history with impressionable folded strata and strange rock formations - a trip through a secret fairytale village (for those of you with creative imaginations!).
We can organise a guided trip for you, with a qualified instructor to show you some basic paddling tips and canoe games, find the best rocks to jump off and rescue you if you fall in!
Or we can arrange to hire canoes or kayaks for you and you can go it alone. Life jackets/ bouyancy aids and paddles are provided with the canoes and kayaks.
The best and easiest form of canoe or kayak for the trip is to take a two person sit on top kayak (which don't fill up with water if you tip them in - which you might want to do on a very hot day!).
The trip is suitable for children as long as they can swim.
