A flexible guided snowshoeing holiday in the Southern French Alps staying in farmhouse bed and breakfast accommodation.

Take a long weekend break to recharge your batteries in the alpine sun and snow from 353€ or indulge yourself with a full week of snowshoeing in the winter wildernesses of the Champsaur and Valgaudemar valleys from 591€ .

Prices Include::

• 4 nights (for long weekend breaks) or 7 nights bed and breakfast accommodation in a beautiful farmhouse bed and breakfast, La Ferme D'Emile

• Guided snowshoeing - either 2 half days and 1 full day (for long weekend) or 3 half days and 2 full days with qualified professionals - accompagnateur en montagne or UIAGM high mountain guide depending on route. 2 full days can be exchanged for 3 half day snowshoe walks.

• Snowshoes and poles

• Maps and advice for walks and things to do in your free time

Prices are per person

Prices are based on two people sharing a room. There are a choice of double, twin or family rooms. Savings can be made by sharing more people to a room. Single person supplement is 21€ per night.

We can accept both pounds sterling and euro payments.

The Ferme D'Emile is an old traditional Champsaurain farmhouse that has been lovingly restored by Dominique and Jean-Marie. It is situated in the tiny village of Les Forestons overlooking the Champsaur valley.

You can eat evening meals at La Ferme d'Emile for an extra 17 euros per head. Dominique is the chef and her food is excellent. She cooks with local produce and also uses plants and herbs from the mountains.

The Ferme D'Emile are totally flexible on which day you arrive and leave so you can take advantage of cheap mid week flights.

This is a flexible holiday where you choose which walks you would like to do from our weekly programme. We will meet you at the beginning of your holiday to go through the options available and will also suggest self guided snowshoe walks that are safe to do on your own and things to do in your free time.

The weekly programme includes several of choices of half day and full day snowshoe walks for all levels of fitness and to accommodate different interests including wildlife spotting, snowshoeing through high altitude villages, moonlit snowshoe walks, high altitude lakes, snowshoeing through the larches, mountain ridges..... and more. The programme is adapted on a regular basis to take into account local conditions.

Please note these snowshoe walks may not all be available for your week as the programme is adapted to make the most of local conditions nearer the time. All the snowshoe walks are also subject to minimum group numbers of four. If your chosen walk does not have the required numbers you will be offered the choice to pay a supplement to cover the guide fee or a different snowshoe walk.

Transport and Getting Here

We highly recommend you self drive rather than let us drive you to and from the snowshoe walks for this holiday as the area has so much to offer and for you to explore in your free time. However, if you would like a quote for a transport included holiday, please just lets us know when you make your enquiry.
