From 1598€ per person for a week of ice climbing adventures in the Southern French Alps.

Auberge in the heart of the mountains on the edge of the Ecrins National Park.
• 5 full days guided ice climbing with fully qualified UIAGM high mountain guides. Ratio 1:6 max for 1st and 2nd day and 1:2 for 3rd, 4th and 5th days. Have a look at our detailed

• All technical and safety equipment. You will need your own personal clothing and mountaineering / ice climbing boots. It is possible to hire boots if you don't have them.
• Return transfers from Gap train station.
• Transport to and from the ice climbing.
This is a progressive course where you will learn the basics of ice safety and security and essential ice climbing techniques. After an intensive introduction on your first two days where you will climb in two different locations to experience different types of ice, you will split into pairs of matching ability and explore more challenging multi pitch routes. And as with the rest of our holidays we choose our locations slightly off the beaten track so you can appreciate the calm and tranquility of ice climbing in the mountains without having to share the experience with hundreds of others1
You don't need to have had any previous ice climbing experience to come on this trip but will need a reasonable level of fitness.

Prices are per person and are based on two people sharing a room. Single rooms are possible for a single supplement of 15€ per night.

We can accept both pounds sterling and euro payments.
If you are an individual booking on to the fixed dates holiday on the 29 January - 5 February 2011 the price is the 4 person price and the holiday is subject to a minimum group size of 4. If for any reason you book and there aren't enough people to fill the trip, you will be offered the choice of canceling your holiday with a full refund or paying a surcharge equivalent to your group size.

We provide all transport from Gap train station which has rail links from Paris (via the night train), Grenoble and Aix-en-Provence or Marseille. Please have a look at our page

If you are a small group booking together we can also provide transfers from the local airports so please ask us for a quote.
We have some of the greatest variety and best ice climbing in the Southern French Alps and climbers come from all over the world to sample it.
As such we have a wealth of sites to choose from and we will adapt the itinerary when you are here to make the most of local conditions. Later in the week, once we know everyone's abilities and aspirations, we'll also tailor the choices to suit you.
