We are very lucky to have one of the highest concentrations of outdoor centres and other group accommodation available to us in the Southern French Alps.
There is a wide choice of possibilities suitable for school and college groups, sporting clubs, corporate groups, stag or hen weekends and other group trips.
All group accommodation is based on either bed and breakfast, half board or full board basis and will have a minimum group size.
Some have ensuite faclities and some have communal washing and sanitary facilities.
They all have communal rooms for meetings, socialising and eating and some have private rooms for teachers (for school groups).
We have chosen a selection to show you on our site to display the range and variety on offer. However, there are other possibilities so please contact us if none of these fit your requirements and we can have a look around for you.
It is also worth having a look at our
youth hostels and gite d'etapes section as these are also good options for group accommodation and don't have a minimum group size.
The Igloo Outdoor Centre
The Igloo have been hosting school, college and other groups for summer multi activity, ski and winter adventure trips in the Alps for over 20 years.
There are 3 floors with bedrooms, sleeping a total of 300 people all together. Each group or school has it's own separate area. All the rooms are ensuite with either a bath or shower and there are a maximum of 4 to each room.
The facilities for groups are excellent with a special cinema room, disco room, 3 dining rooms, a games room and private teachers' room with TV, relaxation area and office facilities.
Outside there is a large south facing terrace overlooking the pistes and mountains.
You can stay here on a bed and breakfast, half board or full board basis and the food is good with all dietary requirements catered for.
It is situated in the heart of a pretty alpine ski village in the Southern French Alps on the edge of the Ecrins National Park and is a perfect location for a summer activity holiday or winter ski or adventure holiday.
In winter there is downhill skiing (ski in and ski out) cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice climbing, husky dog sledding and a range of other activities in close proximity.
In summer there is walking, mountain biking, canyoning, via ferrata, tree climbing, white water rafting, swimming lake, horse riding, rock climbing and many other activities close by.

The Snowman Centre
A great outdoor centre within walking distance of the village of Pont-du-Fosse.
It is perfect for large groups (maximum 130). The centre is basic but clean and spacious. There is a large communal dining room with an outside sun terrace so you have the choice of eating in or outside.
There are also four classrooms that can be adapted to your individual requirements and one has been set up with lights and a sound system for discos. There is table tennis and table football available for use.
For leaders and teachers there is a comfortable sofa area with tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. WiFi is available.
Each dormitory sleeps between 3-8 and is equipped with private an-suite shower room and balcony.
There are 2.5 hectares of grounds set in an alpine landscape including an outdoor climbing wall, archery area and large picnic area. It is possible to set up tents and there are teepees available for use if you want to enjoy a night under canvas around a campfire.
In summer the centre is ideally placed for walking, climbing, canyoning, via ferrata, horse riding, mountain biking, paragliding, kayaking and white water sports.
In winter you are 10 - 20 minutes drive form 5 different ski villages and 30 mins drive from the large ski resort of Orcieres. There are also ice climbing, ice skating, snowshoeing, husky sledding and other winter activities nearby.

The Adventure Centre
The Adventure Centre is a fantastic place. It is a privately owned property with several different dormitories sleeping between 4 and 10 people - each dorm with a different character. It's very french 1960s and retro in its decor. You will find bright orange tiles, original wallpapered door panels and a hotch potch of other colours, mirror tiles and bold flowery wallpaper as well as original old beams and farmhouse features.
You can be self catering or Monsieur Ferero will cook you up a great dinner.
In the building there is a vaulted games room where you can have discos, parties or play indoor table tennis and there are giant chess boards and connect four outside. The lounge and the dining room have musical instruments hanging from the walls which are there to be played. There's a wonderful big fireplace complete with soup pan for those warm winter broths cooked on an open fire.
If you want reasonably priced accommodation, a great atmosphere and you don't mind sleeping in a dormitory this is the place for you.
It is situated in the village of Pisancon, near St Bonnet. It's a beautiful village with great access to all activities and it also hosts the valleys only organic restaurant - a very good one at that!
Minimum group size of 12 people.
