The
Bear Stone is a traditional farmhouse B&B situated in the wild alpine valley of Champoleon. It has been recently renovated to a high standard by Marie and Xavier, a young couple with a passion for the mountains.
Marie is a great cook and for breakfast you will taste her homemade jams and goodies! She doesn't offer evening meals at the Bear Stone, but you are only a minutes walk to the local Auberge in the same hamlet where you can go for a drink and evening meal!
Get the best of both worlds with the peace and quiet and alpine ambiance of the village with the hustle and bustle of a lively ski resort just 15 mins away. Please see getting here and transport options below for practical getting around advice on staying in the Bear stone.
We'll come and meet you when you arrive and welcome you to the area, give you your ski passes (no queuing at the ticket desk!), pre-book your skis, organise your activities and generally aim to take the hassle out of your holiday!
We are around for advice on where the best pistes are, where to eat for lunch, shop and generally make the most of the resort and area.

We can accept both pounds sterling and euro payments.
All prices are based on 2 people sharing a twin / double room. It is possible to reduce the price by sharing more people to a room (up to four).

Getting Here
There are lots of different options for getting here and we will help you plan and book your journey wherever possible. There are cheap public transfers from Marseille and Grenoble airports and Aix-en-Provence and Grenoble TGV train stations. We can also arrange private transfers from nearby airports and train stations, rail transport, ferry crossings and car hire but can't book flights. However, we can help you with information about who flies where so you can book your own.
The Bear Stone is 15 minutes drive away from Orcieres and it is possible to arrange a daily sguttle to take you up for a small supplement. Otherwise we highly recommend having your own transport while here to give you more flexibility and the opportunity to experience everything the area has to offer.
